When will I hear the heartbeat?
Many moms hear it between weeks 10 and 12; for some it's week 14 or later. Before that, silence is normal — even your provider sometimes can't pick it up that early.
How do I use it?
Lie back, apply plenty of gel low on your belly, just above the pubic bone, and glide the probe slowly in small circles. It can take a few minutes. Our 2-minute guide shows you where to place it, week by week.
How do I tell baby's heartbeat from mine?
Baby's is fast, like a gallop — usually around 120–160 BPM. Yours is slower, usually around 60–100 BPM. A soft whoosh with no clear beat is usually the placenta.
Is it safe to use at home?
It uses the same low-power ultrasound technology used in clinics. Keep sessions short — a few minutes is plenty. It's for connection, not for checking on your baby's health.
What if I can't find the heartbeat?
It's usually the baby's position, not enough gel, or simply too early. Try again another day. If you're ever worried, call your healthcare provider — don't wait on a home device.
